Children’s Author Event

The 2023 Fairford Festival Book Fest starts off on Friday June 9 in the Literary marquee at Fairford Cricket Club with children’s authors, Steve Antony and Jo Empson delighting their young audience with the wonderful stories, illustrations and characters in their top selling books.

Jo Empson is an author/illustrator and her artwork is inspired by her love of nature and ever-growing wonder of the natural world. She will be onstage between 4pm-5pm explaining and showing how she creates her beautiful books with depth and meaning.

Books on sale will be: Rabbityness; Little Home Bird and her latest picture book Tiny Blue, I Love You.

Comic Book Artist Event

Steve Antony will follow on from Jo between 5pm-6pm. He is well-known for writing and illustrating eight books in the Mr Panda series and four in The Queen series. He won the Oscar’s Book Prize in 2015 for his book The Queen’s Hat.

A selection of books in each of these series plus copies of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang written by Ian Fleming and Peter Bently and illustrated by Steve Antony will be on sale after Steve’s talk
